Using Pinning/Posting Board to Your Advantage

We all have either heard of Pinterest or we are addicted to it. It’s not something that is brand new, not to most of us anyways – but there has been lots of controversy surrounding it.  Photographers not getting credit for the work, sources not going to where they belong, etc. It’s probably something that we all know all to well.  Ultimately let’s be honest – Pinterest is the homestead of DIYers, Dreamers, and for Inspiration – which is why we all love it so much, right? I know it’s a reason that I love it. It inspires me, it’s a great resource for home projects, recipes, and more – and the idea  is that Pinterest would be great for sales too…

Recently, I saw a tweet the other day that said “Remember lovely followers, I don’t like my stuff on Pinterest, so please don’t put it on there.”  I was intrigued as I know of the shop owner and have connected with her a couple of times. I inquired about her reasoning, because as a shop owner, I use it to promote my stuff from time to time and haven’t really put a lot of thought into it.  I haven’t seen sales from my stuff being there, but haven’t noticed a harm in it.  We got to discussing that she has a Patent on her product and so she has all legal rights and she doesn’t like seeing her items on “DIY” boards or “I Can Make This” boards. Understandably so. She has the “anti-pinning” mechanism code on her sites, but they are still being pushed onto Pinterest.

It had me thinking about it, and really considering what she said.

She mentioned a site to me to go check out – Wanelo.com. She had mentioned in her posts before, but I was interested more than ever.

So I wandered over to Wanelo and found it to be just as addicting but like I mentioned before, it’s solely for products – the best part – it always links back to the person who “Posted” it and gives you two options “Save It” posting it to you Wanelo Board or “Buy It” which takes you directly to where you can purchase it.  Major things Pinterest doesn’t do for the business owner!

What’s not to love?!  Perfect for finding new products and for Promoting & Marketing your own (and I use it to promote the A-List, as well.)  It’s truly an awesome site!

If you end up finding yourself on Wanelo – lets connect! :)
