I’ve been wanting to write this post for a few weeks now and when it finally came down to writing it, the words would not come out. It felt overcomplicated and I ended up rambling, so I’m going to keep it short and sweet.
Yesterday was Nathan’s last day at his corporate job. A few weeks ago (as in two weeks ago from yesterday) – we were presented with an opportunity for The Gnarly Whale that would allow us to both manage it full-time. It’ll force us to cut costs and live cheaply for a while as we pursue it and continue to grow the business, but we both decided it was worth it. We knew that sometimes opportunities are too good to pass up, even if it challenges us in ways that we didn’t know were even possible.
The best part about it all is that we have SO much in store for both the shop and the blog that we can finally pursue now. We’re taking a mini-break over the holiday weekend, but starting next week – we’re going to be rolling out some of the changes for both and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about this.
This is something I’ve been dreaming of for YEARS and for it to finally be here . . . it’s kind of crazy, exciting, exhilarating and sometimes even really scary. I’m really excited for us both to share our journey on this blog and move forward with our goals and dreams in a way that I wasn’t sure I’d see for a really long time.
Happy Friday and Labor Day weekend, everyone!
