Monday’s Memos

Letters, notes, scribblings, and tidbits on my mind from the week prior. Essentially anything that didn’t warrant a solo post.

Making $200 from my parent’s rummage sale was motivating enough to convince us to do our own rummage sale after the fourth of July. All of the money is going to our Florida Here We Come Fund and I am SO excited to see how much we can make in a few weeks.

We saw the Hunger Games for the third time this weekend. I can hardly believe that it’s still in the theater, even after we saw it opening night. We also saw That’s My Boy. I love mystery shopping.

We finally have ALL of our laundry clean. And I feel like I went on some massive shopping spree. goodbye sweat pants, for a week or two.

I’m been obsessed with the album Songs About Jane: 10th Anniversary Edition by Maroon 5 this week, especially the song Secret. I may have listened to that song a good 20-30 times in one day last week.

I like to french braid my hair because it’s the only style that can keep my shorter hair out of my face considering I can’t even pull it back into a ponytail yet. The downfall is that sometimes I feel like it makes me look like a crazy homeless woman because of all of the shorter layers that go every which way. Please grow quicker.

It’s been so dry here that every time the dogs play outside a mini dust storm begins.

I spent a day working outside last week and it was pure bliss. I’m all set to move to Florida so my workspace is less dry grass, twigs, and rocks and more sand between my toes.

I hate shaving my legs, but I love the feeling afterwards. Especially on cool sheets.

what’s been on your mind lately?

Monday’s Memos

Letters, notes, scribblings, and tidbits on my mind from the week prior.

I’m really grateful to have this place, and our personal blog, to write down how I’m feeling. My brain already feels cluttered and unorganized so I’m incredibly thankful to have an easy way to clear out some space in there and have a place dedicated to keeping tracking of all of the important things.

I watched the movie Soul Surfer and am so inspired to do everything I’ve ever dreamed of doing.

if you’re ever feeling down, uninspired, or unmotivated . . . this is the movie to watch

Also? I desperately want to learn to surf when I move to Florida

True Blood premiered last night.

And it was AMAZING. No spoilers here, but I am SO excited for this season.

In 7 months, I will finally have my Marketing Degree. 6 more classes and I am done.

Mentally I’m already done.

I feel like a quarter of my brain is dedicated to our move and vacation anymore. Anything I do somehow relates itself to Florida and the things I hope to accomplish when we visit, and even more so when we move. This happened before our wedding and trip to Jamaica, which left me forgetting to do a lot of things. Fingers crossed the next 6-9 months aren’t spent the same way.

Monday’s Memos + A Winner!

Mind Block Monday is being combined with the Thursday 5 tips posts from now on. Replacing it is Monday’s Memos – letters, notes, scribblings, and tidbits on my mind from the week prior.

Dear Florida,

You’re all I think about. I make breakfast and I think about how much better it would be on a porch in Florida. I get dressed and I think about how I wouldn’t have to wear jeans  and sweatshirts on a regular basis there. I try to figure out what to do on the weekend here and wish there was a sandy beach or a pier over the water like you have.

I keep saying I’ll see you in less than a year, but it’s edging up to the 6 month mark and I’m nervous. Anxious. Excited. Scared. A bundle of emotions that I’m not really sure how to deal with all the time, but I know it’s the right move for me. For us, really.

See you soon,

Me

good books are impossible for me to put down.

I get lost in them and have a hard time thinking of anything else until it’s finished.

When I get older, I want to be like the older women we sat by when we went to see Snow White and the Huntsman. Well into their 60s, oohing & aahing over the special effects and debating over who was Kristen Stewart’s prince charming. Loving life and still acting like they’re not a day out of their 20s.

I’m a Captain America and Thor fan. But I’m a pretty big fan of all of the Avengers.

I need to catch up on The Walking Dead and American Horror Story. Yep, I’m super behind.

True Blood starts in less than a week and we’re planning a True Blood Season 5 premier party. Hello pecan pie!
