RevolutionizeHer: A Community For Women

RevolutionizeHer

Something I don’t talk about much, but really should, is one of the communities that I run: RevolutionizeHer. It’s a small community right now, but we have such high hopes and dreams for it that I wanted to take a moment and let you know what it’s all about in case you weren’t already familiar with it. We’d love to have you join us and help you find a way to pursue your dreams, whatever they may be.

Here’s a bit about who we are and what we’re doing . . .

RevolutionizeHer is a community built around the everyday woman who is looking for a place to share her story of following her dreams. It is for the wives, mothers, students, or working women. It is for women who are aspiring to be better in all aspects of life. For women who are learning to love themselves and be comfortable in their own skin.

There are many messages out in the world telling women what they can and cannot do. RevolutionizeHer was made to challenge those ideals and to help women see that it’s okay to be who they are and reach for their goals. This community is meant to help empower and motivate women whether it be to celebrate her successes, work through her frustrations, build up an idea, get or give advice, or just to get some encouragement.

RevolutionizeHer Re-Launch!

RevolutionizeHer

In case you missed it yesterday, RevolutionizeHer relaunched!

We’ve changed format and our target audience is a bit broader now. RevolutionizeHer is set up to be a partner site of the Better Blogger Network with the same look and feel. And it’s no longer just about self-employed women, or those who hope to be. We’re targeting every women out there with a dream, a hope, or some sort of goal. We’re looking to inspire women from all walks of life to share their dreams and inspire others to follow their own.

We’re positive this will allow us to meet our own goals with the RevolutionizeHer community as we’ve been wanting an interactive forum of sorts from the initial launch of the site. I cannot wait to see where this goes, especially knowing how successful the BBN has been so far.

Upcoming Changes to RevolutionizeHer

If you’re unfamiliar with the project, check out the blog.

Over the past few months, you’ve seen many changes with RevolutionizeHer as we tried to embrace the purpose that we dreamed of when this blog first began. Some changes worked, some did not. In the end, they never quite brought us to where we hoped the community would by at this point. Which led us to a decision in regards to the community’s future and where we wanted it to go.

Due to the success that the Better Blogger Network has already seen, we have made the decision to switch RevolutionizeHer over to a Ning community website as well. This type of site allows for easy communication, a central location to ask and answer questions, and a way for all members of the site to interact with one another in a way that this blog has not allowed for in the past. Our hope from the beginning of RH was to create a sense of community for women wishing to live out their dreams as well as a place to discuss those aspirations with other like-mined individuals – and we think that this is going to be the best way to do this.

We need your help!

We’re looking for a small group of women that are interested in helping us achieve your goals as we make the transition. Currently we are seeking bloggers, forum moderators, and social media/marketing gurus. If you’re interested in helping us out and getting in at the beginning of our newest endeavor, send us an email and we’ll get back to you within the next week with more information.

Whether you’re a shop owner, an entrepreneur, or a woman with a dream . . .

we hope you’ll join us on our new journey!

My Latest Project: RevolutionizeHer

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen me mention a new project launching soon and a whole lot of vague tweets about it over the past month. I couldn’t even contain my excitement long enough to hold off another 4 hours to launch it so here it is!

Taken from the about page:

RevolutionizeHer is community built around every very proud or hopeful self-employed women, looking for a place to share her story with. Whether it be to celebrate her successes. Work through her struggles. Build up an idea. Get advice. Give advice. Whatever it may be – this is what RevolutionizeHer is for.

An amazing group of writers have teamed up for this project, writing to show you just how hard, yet rewarding being self-employed can be. These women are passionate about what they do and we have every hope to show you that you can do what we’re doing to if you aren’t already. If you are, we hope that we can show you that you’re not alone.

A couple of months ago, this project was something I hope to do at some point in my life. Months from now, years from now. Just some day.  I had no clue that it would happen so quickly or that I would find myself working with so many amazing women that kept me inspired every single day. I had no idea that it would take shape the way it did and become so much more than I ever hoped it could.

This project is my hope to reach out to every one of you that has mentioned you hope to do what I do some day. That I inspire you. That you have the same problems, or successes I do. That you needed that nudge that I gave. Or any of you that have stood in the shadows and hoped that some day, you’d find the courage to work for yourself. This project is the effort of some amazingly talented women that want to share their stories, the truths behind self-employment, and be a part of a supportive community that encourages all of us to believe in ourselves enough to accomplish our hopes and dreams.

I hope that you’ll check it out and follow along with us, share your stories with us, and become a part of this community. I know this is going to be big and I am just so excited to be a part of it.

As a side note, I want to thank Megan for dealing with all of my late night thoughts and helping me pull together such an amazing project. I also want to thank all of the writers that dealt with my continuous updates and decided to be a part of it anyway. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! This project wouldn’t be what it is without all of you!
